Community Committee
The Christmas Collection, £10,000
Swim-a-fun, £10,000
Community Bonfire and Fireworks, £10,000
These are annual events to which we invite the population of Christchurch and the surrounding area to help us in making a difference to our local community.
Rotarians value fellowship and aquaintance as an opportunity to serve their local community. So it will not come as a surprise to learn that Christchurch Rotarians volunteer on a regular basis, to organise number of events that engage and support the people of Christchurch.
Some of our recent activity has included:-
- Purchase of a kidney dialysis machine £28K - Christchurch Hospital
- Mentoring and financial support for Youth Speaks Competition - Twynam and Grange Schools
- Financial support for out of School activity - £10K - Jay Youth Groups
- Mentoring and financial support for Young Cook Competition - Twynam and Grange Schools
The finace for these projects has been raised though events like:-
- Community Bonfire, at Sandpit recreation Ground
- Sponsored "Swimafun", at two riversmeet leisure centre
Rotarians volunteer the knowledge and experience gained in their personal and professional lives to contribute to these activities by serving on comitees within the club.
The "Community and Vocational" committee is a hive of activity and continute to come up with new ways of contributing to the local cummunity.
If you would like to support us in our fund raising for local community projects why not come along to one of our organised events?
